Explore your creative skills in The Boghill Centre Pottery! Ceramics workshops for all levels of experience and ability
These workshops are intended to give absolute beginners and improver’s the skills to create something magical, functional, obscure, weird, practical or anything you fancy! Even if you have never touched clay in your life, with the help of our experienced ceramicist you can create whatever you want. (Well almost!)
The clay we use is dug straight from our own land, then hand prepared awaiting your creations. If anybody is interested in this process, volunteers are always welcome – wellies will be provided…)
At the end of the week you will be going home with not only your own work but also a whole week of experience and fun memories.
The week begins on Sunday with an evening meal and finishes after breakfast on Saturday.
Workshops take place every morning Monday to Friday with our resident potter Cari Ryan with 25 years of teaching pottery.
Afternoons are left free to explore the countryside or search for creative inspiration. You will also have the opportunity to dip into other Boghill activities at no extra cost – yoga, ceramics, cob building and more.. So you can experience a bit of our natural landscape, included in the week is a guided Burren walk or a Nature Watching tour at the Cliffs of Moher and optional trips/activities will be organised each afternoon with recommendations made on sight seeing.
In the late afternoon there will be a Ceramics Studio session with a chance to complete work, prepare creations for the kiln, or help with the technical side of clay processing.
Evenings can spent in sessions in the local pubs (a minibus will go out each evening), relaxing with a good book or whatever takes your fancy!
