Down to Earth Farm and Food Experience

Enjoy a Farm and Food Experience weekend retreat on a traditional smallholding in the Burren. You and your small group of 2-5 people will have the opportunity to stay in their “Glamping”, take part in farm activities, cooking classes and Burren tours

”Down to Earth Farm and Food Experience” is taking place during weekends in September and October on an award winning traditional smallholding in the Burren. The farm is situated in the scenic Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Geopark.
The accommodation is in a cosy vintage horse truck that was creatively and skillfully transformed into a unique and bespoke farm accommodation. In Ireland it’s called ‘Glamping’ which is short for ‘Glamorous Camping’. You get all the benefits of camping without any of the hardships. It is comfortable, fully insulated with a wood burning stove, an electric shower and a flush toilet. Two comfortable double beds snugly fit over the truck cabin and a handmade settle bed doubles up as a twin bed, while used as a couch during the day.
You will be introduced to all the farm animals and you can take part in daily activities with the free range rare breed pigs, cattle, hens and donkeys and you will get to know the two lovely dogs and the cat. Seasonal vegetables are grown in a polytunnel on the farm and soft fruits in the garden. The autumn is a lovely time for harvesting and foraging and there will be plenty of produce to use together with the farm’s own top quality, grass fed free range pork meats and eggs. All the meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner will be prepared by the farm couple and you can take part in cooking classes also if you wish to do so. The farm couple are also certified tour guides and will take you to their hidden gems in the area. The Burren is famous for its geology, botany, archaeology, history, heritage and music.
You will arrive at the farm on Friday evening in time for dinner, the following day starts with a hearty Irish breakfast followed by activities, lunch and dinner and the final day you start the day with breakfast and finish the weekend with activities and lunch. They will taylor the activities to suit every group according to age profile, interests and fitness.

Arrival Friday evening at 18:00 until Sunday afternoon at 16:00 every weekend in September and October.
