Just Eat It

BURREN FOOD TRAIL and HYLANDS BURREN HOTEL are hosting a FOOD RESCUE event with VOICE (Voice of Irish Concern for the Environment) and the Environmental Awareness Office, Clare County Council.

Join us for a Food Rescue event at Hylands Burren Hotel beginning at 11am sharp on Saturday 22nd April, Earth Day. We will begin with a talk on food waste and composting, after which ‘Just Eat It – A Food Waste Story’ will be shown. We will then make our way to a local food establishment for a cooking demonstration with perfectly good food that was previously destined for the bin, all before we dine on a delicious meal created by local chefs. We will also be giving away short-dated food freebies kindly donated by FoodCloud, so don’t miss out! And if all this sparks a desire in you to reduce your own food waste – we will be giving you the tools to do just that, including food waste ‘challenge sheets’ to monitor your food and waste over a two week period at home. This will help you to create meals from foods you might consider throwing out, and save you and your family money too!

11am – 12.30pm, €5 per person
