Ballinsheen in Bloom
We are having our 2nd garden open day at Ballinsheen House from 2pm – 4.30pm including afternoon tea in the gardens & our cosy conservatory.
We hope to provide a lovely opportunity for some garden lovers to do what they take joy in, peek over a stone wall, walk through a gateway and take a look around an unknown garden and enjoy. The garden is in a wonderful setting in the pretty village of Lisdoonvarna on the edge of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark. Michael and I have tried to create a garden that is compatible with the surroundings in a sustainable way using local flagstone for low walls from Lough and The Cliffs of Moher, lots of local plants and up cycling where possible..we have created a contemporary garden with traditional elements..pathways and steps lead to hidden and mini garden areas .. its a ‘work in progress’. We hope it offers inspiration, ideas and some tranquillity spending time with nature. Sorry not wheelchair friendly as lots of steps and inclines.
All proceeds from the Open Day go towards the Burrenbeo Trust which is a registered charity dedicated to creating a greater appreciation of the Burren.. They do this through education, information provision, research, Advocacy and active conservation.
