The Roadside Tavern is a world renowned pub run by the Curtin Family since 1893 – making it one of the oldest pubs in the Burren area! Its famously laid-back atmosphere and guaranteed craic makes it as attractive to visitors as it is to the locals.
The Roadside Tavern has been a legendary venue for traditional music for well over a 100 years with many well-known names entertaining the patrons including Christy Moore, Davy Spillane, Tommy Peoples, the Fureys, Seán Tyrrell, Christy Barry, Micko Russel, Mickaleen Conlon, Paul Dooley, Sharon Shannon and many more. During the summer there is live music seven nights a week and in the quieter months there is music at the weekends. In summer, there is also a chance to hear brilliant contemporary bands taking over the stage in the Roadside, often coming from afar – United States, Australia and even Azerbaijan.
The Roadside Tavern serves the finest of Stouts, Ales and Lagers, Wines and Whiskeys and has its own Burren Brewery under the same roof.
The family’s award winning Burren Smokehouse is featured in several dishes on the menu. The Burren Smokehouse is literally over the bridge and well worth a visit.
