Doolin Music House hosts traditional Irish music evenings in a relaxed and informal setting. It is the home of Christy Barry and Sheila Quinn. If you want a truly authentic experience this is the house to visit ! Christy and Sheila open up their atmospheric home to visitors so they can experience local Irish music and great hospitality in the cosy relaxed setting of their sitting room around a turf fire. Christy talks and discusses the history of traditional Irish music and plays great tunes. He always plays with another musician (sometimes a few more). They play a variety of tunes and Christy gives some background information to the tunes. He also informs the visitors about the Doolin legends that passed down the music – such as the Micho Russell and his brothers Gus and Packie and many more. Visitors enjoy the experience of a local home, listening to great traditional music around the turf fire. Visitors are treated to delicious smoked salmon on brown bread, a selection of artisan cheese and crackers washed down by wine or sparkling/still water.
Christy has also built a small quirky art studio in the back garden with his own hands, using all recycled materials and making it an enchanted place which guests can visit. Sheila displays some of her art here and also has great ceramics for sale from a local artist.
If you want a great evening of music, stories and laughter , delicious canapés and a great Irish welcome, Doolin Music House is the spot for you to visit !!!
